Little Dragons — Kids Karate
Our youngest students learn karate the way children learn best: through play, repetition and gentle structure. Sessions build focus, coordination and the listening skills that carry far beyond the mat.
Whether you are four years old taking a first stance or a brown belt grading toward Dan, every class at Shoryu Dojo is built on the same foundation: respect, repetition and honest progress.

A dedicated starter course for complete beginners of any age. Over six patient weeks you learn the stances, etiquette, terminology and core technique you need to step confidently onto the main floor.
A grounded, scenario-based class for adults and teens. Learn awareness, de-escalation, escapes from common holds and calm decision-making under pressure — practical skills drawn from traditional technique.
Quarterly grading preparation toward your next kyu and, in time, the black belt. We assess on the floor, in front of your instructor and peers — a belt at Shoryu is a record of training done, never a reward bought.
An invitation-only squad training toward regional and national kata & kumite tournaments. Higher intensity, focused coaching and a genuine team culture under our head coach — for students ready to test themselves.
“I started the beginners' course at 41, convinced I'd be the oldest and least able in the room. Sensei made it the opposite. A year on I'm graded to orange belt and fitter than I've been in a decade.”
“Both my daughters train here and the difference in their confidence is remarkable. The discipline is real but it's always kind. You can feel how much the instructors genuinely care.”
“The competition squad pushed me further than I thought I could go. I placed second in the regional kata final this spring — something I'd never have believed of myself two years ago.”
